The R.C.E.P. comprises the 10 countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as well as Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea. Iceland is the first developed European country to recognize China as a complete market economy and the first European country to negotiate a free trade agreement with China.
